Immersion assembly

Today the 26th of July was Pt England's day back to school of term 3. Today I am writing about the immersion assembly, and the subject we are learning about is Healthy me Healthy you. So my favourite highlight about immersion assembly was team 5's act. There act was about the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, it was really funny and interesting the teachers got into small little groups of two and one of the teachers were the athlete and the other was the coach.

The country's they did to compete was U.S.A , Australia , and NZ. The first group up was Australia their performance was really cool it was an awesome act. Next up was U.S.A. their act was very cool they did it with some hula hoops, it was really cool because they were spinning it around there arms hips and even there neck.

After U.S.A it was the amazing NZ, they did gymnastics it was an amazing performance some cartwheels and spins it was very amazing, and that was the end of the Olympics and in first place was NZ , 2nd place was Australia and last place is U.S.A.

The Colosseum - Imformation Report

Today I'm going to talk about the Colosseum. So why does the Colosseum look half broken? Well It was broken because a major earthquake toppled part of the outer wall, and the fallen stone was taken away to use for other buildings. The Roman Colosseum has lasted for over 2000 years, although it’s partially broken. The Colosseum had been built on the site of an artificial lake, underneath it ran channels that could deliver water from a nearby aqueduct to flood the arena floor until the was deep enough that real ships were able to float on it.

Italy Will Rebuild the Colosseum's Floor, Restoring Arena to Its Gladiator-Era Glory | Smart News | Smithsonian Magazine

The Roman Colosseum was made from thousands of slaves. The Vespasian died before it was even finished! The Colosseum was opened by his Son, Emperor Titus. The Colosseum is the height of a 12 story house. When it is completed, it could fit 50k people! It is made of stone, bricks and concrete. The first games in the Colosseum lasted for 100 days! Thousands of animals fought and were killed. Criminals were executed in the Colosseum as well.

Gladiators were very popular, were meant to entertain people. Successful gladiators could be celebrities .It helped keep the Emperor Popular with the people of Rome. The sea battles were only held in the Colosseum for a short period of time. Fights and hunts were held for hundreds of years. Construction began on the Colosseum in 72 AD… under the direction of the Emperor Vespasian

Restoration of the Colosseum began in the 1800s and continues to this day. For centuries the Colosseum crumbled gradually each day. Originally called the Fl avian Amphitheatre.

Egypt The Great pyramid of Giza

“Did you know that Egypt holds over 100 pyramids identified?

Egyptians believed that by burying the deceased with the organs, they can rejoin in the after life. Egyptians kept burying people with things they think were ‘important to them’. Although it backfired as wild animals kept digging up the sand, and thieves stole the loot, that's when Pyramids came.

ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/1024/cpsprodpb/291D/produ...

Pyramids were created and this is so the Pharaoh's valuable loot doesn’t get stolen as you can see from the first paragraph. Pyramids were made from a material called ‘limestone’, Limestone is made mostly by something called ‘calcite carbonate . Pyramids were made by hand! They were made by hand because in the past the technology humans developed didn’t exist.

As you know Pyramids were created for tombs, then this Pharaoh named KHufu created the largest pyramid in the world, called the ‘ Great Pyramid Of Giza ‘. The Great pyramid of Khufu is one of 104 pyramids in Egypt with superstructure. The Great Pyramid Of Giza is one of seven wonders and it’s the only one that exists till this day!
