So they went to go Carrie the bear and went outside to the others and one of them said should we make a fire so he went to go get some sticks and made a fire and that’s the end by.

Then he chucked me up in the air and I got really scared and that’s why I am scared of heights. That’s why every time he chucked me up in the air I made this face which made him laugh too.

In the holidays, my mum, my sister and I went to my little's cousin’s white Sunday because we wanted to see her first performance.

When we got there we saw her practicing, with her church friends. After that they started, some of them all ready did their speeches and it was my cousins turn to speak, she was funny because she spoke really loud and we were all proud of her. When it finished we went to my cousin and her mum and we went to go buy some KFC. After we brought KFC we were talking and playing, then we went home and ate the KFC, and the performance was really cool and funny.

This is my DMIC work that I did with my group me and my group worked very good together. Miss West had to put us into different groups so I was put with kolopa and RaeJae. 

Sheep Point of View

While I was walking on the path I saw this weird shaped creature. The creature was too close to my baby lamb so I started to chase her down the path but it looked like I was going to far and it also looked like she was scared so she stopped and I was surprised that she stopped so I was just about to hit her but luckily I quickly dogged her and ran the other way. After that I ran back to my baby lamb.

Dictation

The mother sheep followed me along the path picking up her paste as she realised I was with in a touching distance of her lamb. She let out a loud loap leet which echoed across the padic. The sleeping lamb lifted it’s head and turned towards us before slowly returning to it’s sleep. As the sheep got closer and closer I thought about weather I should turn and run I began to panic was she going to attack me holding my breath I froze I side as the sheep dogged me and ran protectively towards it’s land few that was a close call.

Then they saw a monster and they thought that the monster was going to eat them so they ran away and they saw a bench and they sat down and when they got back they monster was eating their food. After that they became friends and they had a picnic all together.

So what me and my partner were doing was we were helping each other with our writing.

Once upon a time there was 4 girls in their classroom and 3 of those girls were the bullies their names were Ss, Bm and NJ. Ss was the boss also Bm and NJ were her backups just incase something happens to her if your wondering why they have nicknames it is because of their personalities because Ss stands for sassy sivaenah Bm stands for bossy mia Nj stands for Norah-Jade because they can’t find a nickname for her. Also the other girl her name is Madi she got bullied ever since she got to the school. So Madi was very good at sports and the girls wouldn't let her play.

immersion assembly writing

On the first day back at school we had an immersion assembly. So first miss noua said welcome back to school and we didn't know we're Mr burt was but when Mr       J and Mr somerville went on the stage Mr burt came out and we were laughing because Mr burt tried to dress up as beyonce. While Mr burt was dancing he told us to stand up and dance with him so we did. After that we just carried on with the assembly.

They showed team one’s movie it was about go to sleep early. After that they showed team two’s movie it was cool because Mr Moran and Miss Moran did the kiki challenge but Mr Moran was sad to Miss Moran because he slapped her in the head. After they showed team three’s movie they lipped synced the lyrics it was funny how Mr Moran was the son of Miss Eadie.

After that they showed team four’s movie and they were learning about a lot of fitness and how to be healthy. Also they made this game called spoon hockey and you have to put the end of the spoon in your mouth and push the ball. After that it was team five’s turn but they didn't do a movie they went up on the stage and they were acting they were learning about yoga. After that we were just doing normal stuff and then we went to class.

School Holiday blogging

First day of the school holidays so that means that I have to blog.  So after Friday I had my last rugby game we won against varsity under 10's. It was a hard game but we still won. After that we went home and just had a rest. The next day we just went to our Nana's house in the afternoon and stayed there until night time and then we left. So the next day which is today we just finished watching the Walter dickson east team that played at varsity after that we watched the storm east girls that also played there it was so cool watching them play after that we came home and we ate and we just relaxed while I am blogging.

Matariki writing

Last friday it was matariki day and we got put into different groups and classes were separated into
different classes.
I was put into Movie making when I got into my group we got into small groups and one
of them were year 2 to 3 and year 4 to 5 boys and year 6 boys and my group was called the media group.
The people who was in my group was Luisa, Lashana, Ana, and Jahzara.
After that miss gave us a camera to me to take pictures and a camera to jahzara to do some interviews.
'After that we all went around the school and went to different classes.
We saw lots of creations and lots of food but over all of it it was fun but I want that day to be everyday.

After a while we came back and had our morning tea after morning tea we came back and we went to the classes that we did not interview and take photos but we didn't do all of the groups because Mrs lagitupu said that our movie had to be 3 of 2 minutes long. After we came back from around the school we started to edit it when we finished editing it we went to go have our lunch and after lunch the whole school went to the hall and sat in our groups and the people who made stuff had to walk on the stage and show their creations and the people who made movies showed their movies and the people who did cooking saved there cooking and and gave some to there teachers. After the whole assembly Mr Burt had all the year one to 3 go to there classes and Mr Burt let the rest of the people go because they were older and then they all went home.

Reading task for week 8

this is what my group had to do for there reading task so we had to disagree or agree for what it said and then we had to find a sentence that matches it.

This is our reading task for week 3 this book is called fueling extiction every page it had a country so we needed to find that country and write about it.

Miss West's and Mrs Moala's Experiment

Research  I found out that the lighter ball will fall down more quicker because the gravity pulls it down more faster and I found out that gravity pulls you down so you can’t float.

Hypothesis   if you drop the big ball then it will drop before the smaller ball because it weighs more than the smaller ball.

Procedure:    Also because miss let them go at the same time and both of them were bounce so when they put it in slow motion that it looked like the heavier ball fell first but it was both of them.

Conclusion:  First thing you need to do is Ask yourself a question then get two chairs then get two balls after that drop the balls at the same time and from the same height.

Results:  After Miss dropped them we found out that they fell on the ground at the same time.

Immersion Assembly Recount

On the first day of school Monday the 30th Mr burt said welcome back to school then team one they played a movie about them going to the beach and and there was a big boulder in front  of them. They tried and tried to move it but they got a great idea. They found a long tree that had fallen down and they put it under the boulder and jumped on it altogether and it flu away. After the movie Miss hockly talked about what there doing. After she talked to us it was time for team 3 so team 3 played there movie. There movie was cool but it was about dancing and moving around like dancing and playing on the park so what  they're learning about is moving with motion. After that miss king came up and talked about what there doing.

So it was time for team 4 as you I am in team 4. The teachers played there movie and then all of them came up on the stage a were talking about it. They were talking about these things like they built different things and they roll off into the water so they made a mini version on it and they rolled it off and it was a fail so they walked back to they seats and it was time for team 5 the walked on the stage a they called out random teachers names  out they called Mr Moran’s name out and they called out Miss Moran and Miss parrant. After that 3 of the year 7&8 teachers vsed them in tug of war so they played it and the random teachers won. After that they did it with gloves the random teachers had to wear doctors gloves with dishwashing liquid so they played and the year 7&8 teachers won and after that we carried on with the assembly and after assembly we went back to class and and started writing about it.

Year 5 & 6 camp writing

Last week we had year 5 & 6  camp at school. As you know I’m a year 5 so it was my first time at camp and it was really cool. We had to get put in our teams and I was in Tumeke to clean. It was a cool team and amazing because we had good dancers and lots of good smiles.The best activity was  kayaking because we had to swim and it was fun because was very hot and tired. We got to lie on the sand .Killer zone was also the best because we go to get wet and go to the pools and shower there. After that we had dinner. Our dinner was mince and nachos. it was so yummy that I ate it all and it was yum I was nearly gonna go for a second but I was so full . After that we went to watch a movie. It was called Captain Underpants it was so cool. After that we went straight to the marque and prayed and then we went to our tens and went to sleep.

Also I saw that Tamaki was holding my baby brother.

Also I want to go back to camp because it was fun and we did't have to go to school.

Dictation Race

Today was meant to be the picnic. Sadly, it was raining today which meant we couldn't go! Miss West had packed her hat, sunblock and towel. Hopefully we will get to go to the picnic later in  this term as it is nice to go swimming and enjoy the sun at our very own beach!

First Miss West said get into partners so I picked Jane. One of us had a chrome book and one of us did 'int I was the one who did'int have the chrome book and I had to tell Jane the words but Oalii and Norah-jade won.

Code

Human Not

Before we started writing we went outside and play this game called the human not. We had to hold people’s hands across from us and then we had to try undo it. After that we had to go back inside and write about it. Last year the year 5’s did it and it look like it was fun so we played it. last year Mr Somerville took some photos of them. While we were doing the human not Miss West and Miss Moala took some photos of us. After that I went home and I played with my brother and sister.

Bula, kia ora, welcome to my blog. My name is Maddison-Rose. I’m a year 5 at Pt England School. My teachers are Miss West and Mrs Moala.

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and playing sports. I love playing sports and I love playing netball with my friends. Also, I love watching movies with my family. Also I have some amazing best friends. R-E-S-P-E-C-T is helping other that need help and it’s about helping our environment.

Respect respect means helping other also helping the environment. Helping the environment means when you walk past rubbish you pick it up and put it in the bin.

Disrespectful it means the same thing from respect but the other way around it’s like taking when the teachers talking and not putting your hand up. That’s called being disrespectful.

Next thing you have to do is listen to the teacher when the teacher is talking to you you look at them and when there done you walk away.  

Next thing you have to do is be kind if someone is alone what would you do just ignore it or play with them I would play with them and saw would you be my friend.

SLJ week two Day three activity 1 & 2

   Activity one: Dealing with Stress 

In New Zealand, many people lost their jobs during this decade. Experts predict that as much as 30% of the population was unemployed. It was a very stressful time for families.

Sadly, many of us still experience stress in our lives to this day. When I feel stressed I try to go for a walk or pop into my local gym for a quick workout. Exercise makes me feel better. What about you?

On your blog, please tell us what you do when you want to relax or de-stress. Do you read a favourite book, watch a favourite television show or talk to someone special?  What are your tips for dealing with stress?

When i'm de-stress I watch TV or I go to sleep or I play cards with my brother or my sister.

                                  So those are some tips when i'm de-stressed. 

                                          

                           Activity two: Offering a Helping Hand  During this period, people struggled to find work both here at home and overseas. It was a really tough time for people living in the Great Plains of the United States because they were hit with a huge drought that lasted for most of the decade. Many crops were damaged and farmers were not able to make enough money to feed their families.

Imagine that you were alive in the 1930s. What could you have done to help these families? On your blog, list three different ways that you could raise funds for families to help them buy food and clothing. Be as creative as you can with your fundraising ideas!                          

1.  I would have a garage sale with clothes and hats and food

SLJ week two Day two activity 1 & 2

                      Activity one: The popular Culture, the silent movie: The 1920s saw a massive surge in the number of people going to the movies. Huge new cinemas were built in both Auckland (The Civic Theatre) and Dunedin (Empire De Luxe).  The most popular type of movies showing at local NZ cinemas were ‘silent’ films. Gold Rush and The Lion's Cage are examples of iconic silent films. They feature a famous actor named Charlie Chaplin. They said what the trailer for gold rush and say on your blog what you think about it and do you like silent movies or not and why or why not.

What I think about the movie it is a cool movie I really enjoyed watching it my favorite part of the movie was Charlie Chaplin putting his walking stick into the snow and his hand fell into the snow and my other favorite part was Charlie opened the door and the house nearly fell down and he was holding on to the door. Why: because it was a really funny and cool movie.

Activity Two: Art Deco  they said On your blog, give the painting a rating out of 5 stars (1 star = terrible painting, 2 stars = pretty bad painting, 3 stars = okay painting, 4 stars = good painting and 5 stars = amazing painting). After you’ve rated the painting out of 5, tell us why you gave it that rating and they said take a look at the painting very closely and rate it.    

So I looked at it very closely and I rate it a 5 because that's a really cool drawing and it got's really cool details so I give it a 5.
