What causes a protest?
------------------------------------------
So what causes a protest? People usually protest about . their rights or something they want to change. For example Kate Sheppard got lots of people to sign a petition for womens right to vote. Women wanted to be treated more fairly.
Do protests actually work?
Some protests do work. For them to work, lots of people need to agree with the protest. Particularly the government. For example, in Parihaka, the Maori protested peacefully, but the settlers sent in the soldiers.
In conclusion, people protest to get rights and get attention to something important. They can work if most people agree with the protest.

happen he thought it would be a normal assembly but what he

So we went to assembly and all the normal things happened
then we sang two songs then we sat down and the boys kept
standing then they did a Haka for Mr Burt. After that Mr Burt said
thank you to everyone and said to Mrs Burt I love you. It was a cool
experience and all of us appreciate what Mr Burt and Mrs Burt
have done for us.
